I have upgrade my Ubuntu 10.10 to Ubuntu 11.04. This is the beta version before it reached stable version Ubuntu 11.11. The most notable changes from Maverick is the Unity Desktop. i would not go into detail on the difference between Maverick 10.10 and Natty 11.04, but if you are interested to know more Webupd8 has the answers. I am not going to tell you the technical stuff that even I don’t understand hehe.

Beside the Unity Desktop, Natty also have new default music player Banshee 1.9.5,LibreOffice 3.3.2, Banshee 1.9.5, Evolution 2.32.2 and Nautilus,Kernel 2.6.38, Xserver 1.10, Gnome 2.32.1, Shotwell 0.9, and  Firefox 4.0 RC2

Ubuntu 11.04 beta 1 comes with Kernel 2.6.38, Xserver 1.10, Gnome 2.32.1, Shotwell 0.9, Firefox 4.0 RC2 (apparently the package has not been updated to the final version, however, RC2 is identical to the final version), LibreOffice 3.3.2, Banshee 1.9.5, Evolution 2.32.2 and Nautilus

Below are my installation screenshot of Natty 11.04. on my Dell Inspiron 1420. Now I have Vista, Linux Mint 10.10, Jolicloud 1.2 and Natty 11.04 on my laptop. Awesome !

The installation I can say that took less than one hours. I installed with internet connected. So half of the update job were done by internet connection. So I just need to install codec for mp3 and movie plus chrome.

With Ubuntu Software Center you can download all you free software.

You can download and burn the iso image on your DVD for testing.

This is my current dekstop theme : BlueBird GTK with Faenza Blue Dark2. Cool rite. I would like to say that you have to get to use with Unity then you can appreciate it. Its new and will take time for user to get familiar with it. Trust me, this Natty is rawk. Experience the new era of Ubuntu.
