To be honest Firefox was my first love before Chrome. I left Firefox to be with Chrome because Chrome’s navigation, bigger layout and fast. But with latest Firefox 4 release, its going to be tough for me to choose. Rite now I am using Chrome 10.0.648.133 (77742) Built on Ubuntu 10.10, running on LinuxMint 10. Yesterday I download Firefox 4 for Linux with a lot of improvements :

1. New Tab Location

Tabs are given top visual priority for more efficient and intuitive browsing. So you have more space to browse and less scrolling.

2. Switch to Tab

Navigate more easily by switching to open tabs from your Awesome Bar. Unlike Chrome you can just search straight away on the navigation bar.

3. App Tabs

Take sites you always keep open—like Web mail—off your tab bar and give them a permanent home in your browser. This app will be available at your browser just like bookmark. Easy to click and find.

More importantly, they have improve page load speed and start up time with brand new JägerMonkey JavaScript engine. Maybe you can refer at their FULL features here.

So if you are Firefox Hard Die Fan, then you should try this new Firefox 4. The installers for Firefox 4 final are now available for download on Mozilla’s FTP servers that you may directly access using the following links:

  • For Windows – Firefox Setup 4.0.exe (12 MB)
  • For Linux – Firefox-4.0.tar.bz2 (15 MB)
  • If you want to run Firefox 4 in Linux already, you can download it from HERE, extract the downloaded archive and double click the file called “firefox” (not firefox-bin!).
