There is one lady sent an email propose a business proposal. She want to pay me a certain amount to put links on this blog. I was skeptical and thinking this was another spam email. But I did reply. Then she show me sample of her links. When I agree about the terms and deal, she just never replied. Maybe its a scam anyway : )
So I just wonder why suddenly someone interested to advertise on my blog. I just rarely update and my Page Rank is not stable. Today can be 0 tomorrow it can be 3. I heard that Google is updating page rank.So I check. Tadaaa. My blog is PR4. I didn’t expect that my blog page rank will be increase to 4. Hahaha. Wow!. Just 2 thing here:
1- I don’t know how Google calculate this Page Rank but as you know I left this blog for about a few months. Just recently update my blog. So how come my blog can be PR4. This is not funny Google.
2- Maybe this PR4 thing just a mistake. We can call it PR glitch hehe. So I put PR status at my sidebar just to see how long this PR4 will last. You know what, back at those days, if you have a blog with PR4 you can make a lot of money by selling links, paid post and even selling advertisment space.
My advice, if you want to get higher PR just keep updating your blog and don’t copy paste. kEEP IT ORIGINAL!
There is one PC in my office, HP Pavilion with 256 RAM running Windows XP. Its really slow and nobody want to use it. With low RAM its only can run one process at one time. You can have a Teh tarik in order to wait this PC to start hehe.
So I decided to change the Operating system using Ubuntu or Oshirix. Unfortunately even Ubuntu minimum requirement for RAM is 512 Mb. Oshirix is 256 Mb but still too slow.I tested both using Live CD. Nothing appear when test with Ubuntu Live CD. A little succes when test with OShirix but still slow and I am not satisfied with it performance.
Later I decided to test Puppy Linux the one of the lightest of other Distro Linux. It works well. The latest version for Puppy Linux is 5.2. Did you know with Puppy, you can install it on memory card, USB and CD. With Puppy, you can do a lot of thing. From recovery, removing malware and back up your file. You can read more here.
Dual Boot : XP and Puppy Linux
I decided to install a dual boot for the computer just to be safe. The concept of create a dual boot is simple.
1. Create and resize your exisiting partition to a new ex2 using Gparted.
2. Install Puppy linux in the new linux/ex2 partition
3. Install grub on the partition and walla you will have a dual boot.
All of this tolls, Gparted and grub are all in Puppy Live CD so no need to worry. With Puppy you can install Chrome and many free application. Work lite and fast. This HP Computer is working fine now with Puppy linux. I suggest you guys to downlaod this Puppy Linux not only to test this lite OS but as backup. Let say you want to repair your windows or remove malware. Download will only take 15 minutes since its only 127 MB. Downlaod and burn in your CD. You will never know when you need it.
p/s Lately I have been sitting in front of 2 pc or laptop. One running Windows and one with Linux. Awesome 🙂
In my office I have a few printer and old pc that are left alone. People here like to use laptop and print using Ricoh Aficio 2283C, that is connected thru LAN. Fast and convenience.
Yesterday my boss asked me to print a large document for our training. We have 2 unit of cheap canon printer which have been modified. Where you add CSS ink tank like this :
its look simple and really cheap. BUT it will not last long. This system known as CSS system will face a lot of problem like my 2 printer here. Always have problem. Ink will flow from the ink tank to the cartridge inside the printer only using gravity and pressure. So as long the ink flow is good than it will have no problem. If not you will be like a small kid playing with water color to fix this kind of printer. So messy playing with ink. : ). I even sucked the ink using my mouth to make sure the ink read the cartridge. Yuckkk!
PagePro no so PRO
Back to my Konica Minolta printer, my boss left it there for quite sometime. He said that it failed to print anymore and all sort of error. Yesterday i took some time to check and install with my Ubuntu. Well amazingly it worked. I use the PPD driver and install in CUPS. CUPS is the standards-based, open source printing system developed by Apple Inc. for Mac OS® X and other UNIX®-like operating systems. But its quite slow because its not quite compatible with my Ubuntu.
I try to use the PagePro 1300W with my Window Vista. At first it did not work. Vista failed to detect the printer. Until i download the driver from Konica Minolta site. The trick is to change the LP1 to Virtual USB it on printer properties. That is why my boss thought the printer was rosak.
Anyway after print a few documents, the printer jammed with paper. I already took it out but still failed to print. I took out the toner and saw a piece of paper already blend with the hot roller. Everytime I print the paper will get stuck due to that roller. So this time its hardware problem. I already tried to unscrew the printer but failed. I have no proper tools. The one that I have here is for small screw :).
In my opinion, if I did open the printer to reach the roller, I wont be able to separate the paper and the roller. Maybe it will damage . So better to leave it alone to have some rest. Maybe I will try to open it next year hehe. I got other job to do. Wait for my Puppy Linux project : )
If you notice before this, I prefer to update MONEY related issue in this blog. Why ? Because I want to make money with adsense, increase traffic, increase SEO, pageRank bla bla bla. In short I just want to make money from my blog and I have to follow a lot of rules etc SEO, keyword in order for me to write.
In the end, when I have no stories or how to make money online, I am totally blank. That is why this blog is left alone for quite sometime. So now I decided to write whatever i like and share my knowledge with others. It can be about movies or chatting or personal findings. No more targeting certain keyword to get more traffic or click.
I also change this blog theme to make it clean and simple. The most important thing its updated and fresh content. What good can it bring by having beautiful theme and many ads without good content.
I was surprised to see that even my blog is not update my PR still 3. So I think this PR thing is playing with your mind. Believe me, just write what you like and ingore the rules.
I am not giving up with Adsense or cannot make money online, it just not a priority anymore. Last time i will check my adsense earning almost every hour even i don’t update my blog. I should ashame of this. Its like a burden.
Now I just don’t care. Its really a big relieve. No more pressure to update my blog with certain set of rules. I am a FREE man now haha
p/s See, I can write 3 entry in one night isn’t that great haha
The best thing that happen to me. Seriously. You can explore a new world of OS other than window. Not just Ubuntu but many other Distro such as Linux Mint, Simple Linux, Oshirix and Puppy Linux. Ubuntu especially has opened up my eyes that you can do a lot of thing with your laptop and you don’t have to pay a cent for it. You don’t have to worry about trojan, virus or slow application. Because with Linux you don;t have to install antivirus or spyware because trojan and virus are designed for windows only :).
For the record I have reformat my laptop hard disk 3 times and bought a new hard disk because of Linux. Don’t worry Linux especially Ubuntu is safe and user friendly. It just me, I tried and experiment a lot of new application and format my hard disk without proper knowledge.
I know its hard to convince you to try Linux same goes with me. Adi from Oshirix has tried for 2 years to convince me to try Oshirix. Unfortunately I fell in love with Ubuntu. Anyway he still happy with it.
Starting from Wubi, where you can install Ubuntu as a new program application in your windows or dual boot which I recommend. You can google or download the manual for step by step to create dual boot with Window and Linux. You can download Ubuntu at Ubuntu.com or request for free installation CD.
