April last year, I did compare Tune Prepaid Visa Card with Maybank Debit card to show how Tune Card is good tools for making money online.
But now, Maybank has upgrade their Maybank Debit Card so the user can use it for internet transactions.
So the famous application for Debit Card Malaysians is to withdraw money from PayPal account. If this is the first time you heard about about PayPal and have no idea about it. Don’t worry. it just an internet account for online transactions. It’s free to use, easy to receive money from online advertiser and you can buy credits for your Barn Buddy game in facebook. 🙂
Ok, the first step to withdraw money from PayPal using Maybank Debit card is simple actually. You must have Maybank2u account and already change your ATM Maybankard to Debit card like this one:
I already changed it when my ATM Maybankard broke because of my fat sharp azz hehe. FYI, PayPal is free to register. They charge you USD 5 per withdrawal.
If you have all this three items than you are ready to withdraw your PayPal money to Maybank Debit Card. Ready
First Phase : Register your Maybank Debit Card to Secure Online Shopping Registration
1. Please login to your Maybank2u account.
- Then look under Utilities and Click on Maybankcard Secure Online Shopping Registration
To access Maybank Secure Online (MSOS), a credit/debit card link to either MasterCard or VISA is required.
Please fill out all fields.ALL fields are compulsory.
- Next fill in the MSOS Password and Personal Assurance Message. (PAM)
Your Personal Assurance Message (PAM) will appear whenever you asked for your password whilst shopping online. This confirm that you are only providing your password to Maybank and you should check to make sure this message is correct.

Remember all this PAM and Hint & Answer. Write it somewhere using your secret code. You might need it.
I have been actively writing article on Tune Card, a prepaid Visa card for the past 3 months. Product by Tunemoney Sdn Bhd (company from Malaysia) is now gain more publicity since they started to do some advertisement on TV here in Malaysia.
Well guys that is good news for my adsense and SEO. After months of doing some charity work, customer service and feedback to Tune Card user now it is payback time. One thing that this Tune Card is so popular, is that the ability to validate and cash out PayPal. So, this card is so useful to blogger or internet marketer to make money online. As you know Malaysian cannot cash out direct since PayPal did not accept bank from Malaysia, maybe someday they will. Now every body know where is Malaysia what, near Singapore “:)
Due to recently aired TV Ad about Tune Money , I get a high traffic for people looking for keywords like TuneMoney.com, Tune Card, Tune Visa Prepaid and Debit Card. From the chart you can see traffic suddenly increase after the TV advertisements launched.
So I would like to thanks Tengku Zafrul, CEO for Tune Money for the advertisement that also make my blog popular. If you try to search for tune money, my site will be on the first page on Google, not bad huh 🙂 .
Anyway, I would like to discuss and share a few main points here base on my experience on my next post.
- Type of people who click to your adsense ad
- PR of your website determine traffic
- Important of Niche/product that your choose
- Google Ads placement
[UPDATE : This Post is no longer VALID since Maybank has improved their Debit Card Service. Please refer my latest post regarding Maybank Debit Card. Thanks ]
I read in the net that Maybank launched a new Maybank Visa Debit Card, I said WOW! that would be great since I have a saving account with them. So, I am expecting free service, easy top up and more shopping at the Internet. I am glad more local banks start offering Visa debit card facility.
Steven Wong has made a summary about this new card :
To review whether this Visa debit card compatible to PayPal withdrawal, I spend sometimes to read on Maybank website, and here is the quick summary for your info:
- Maybank’s Group ATM in Singapore, Brunei and Philippines: RM2 each
- MEPS network: RM1 each
- Visa Plus Network: RM12 each
Existing Maybank ATM card holders can convert their cards with the one time cost of RM12. It is also the same cost for card replacement.
However, if you used up to 7 years (upon the expiry date, you will get the replacement at FOC).
Earn 1 TreatPoint for every RM3 purchases.
No annual fees, monthly interest rates or late charges.
So, since I am a Tune Card user plus have a Maybank saving account, I think it would be good if I compare this two card, rite ?

I better stick with Tune Visa Prepaid Card, Why ? As you can see it is more flexible and Internet friendly. The most important thing is you can withdraw your PayPal money with it.:)
By the way, you can use Maybank ATM card in Petronas Petrol Pump and selected Supermarket so why Maybank want to promote this Debit card instead. I think their business idea for this Debit card is weak because you don’t want to go abroad only carrying debit card right?. At least you must have a spare credit card for emergency.
For me, debit card or Prepaid card is only suitable for Internet transaction. Buy ticket, hosting, domain and eBay online. So if maybank overlook this thing than their debit card will be nowhere compared to by Tune Prepaid Visa Card.
Several feedback that I got :
1. The question now is: Can Maybank Visa Debit cards compatible to PayPal withdrawal? I search on the web and try to find any review on that, unfortunately, there is no review so far. The closest was Uncle FL Sam on his withdrawal to Maybank Visa Credit Card.
So, I called up this morning to Maybank Customer Service to find out the details. The Maybank staff that I spoke to also not sure whether it is workable. After 20 minutes checking and waiting, she told me “NO” for PayPal withdrawal. steven wong
2. I try to add MBB Visa Debit card with Paypal, its not work. The following message will appear…
“This credit card has been denied by the bank that issued your credit card. For details on why your card was denied, please contact your credit card issuer’s customer service department. Or, you may want to try adding a different credit card.” zahidi

Sorry guys, I need to apologise you for not explaining the exact term for Prepaid Cards and Debit cards. Since all this while, I thought both are the same thing. Unfortunately, it’s not. I have been telling you that Tune Card from Tune Money is a debit visa card, right? Actually it is a Visa Prepaid Card. So what is a debit card then? I need to clarify the misconception about Tune Card is either a debit card or credit card.
A debit card ?
A debit card is issued by a bank to allow an individual access to his or her funds without having to physically go to the bank. A debit card can be used to withdraw cash from an automated teller machine (ATM) or to make purchases at merchant locations.
Don’t be surprise when suddenly you 12 year old son asking you to get him a debit card (a prepaid Visa) at Tune Money.
“Papa, Can You get me a tune card, I want to cash out my PayPal money” 🙂
“See I have my own blog now”
