This entry only can be made when I have enough money in my PayPal to withdraw.That is why it takes so LONG : )
Actually I promised to write entry on Cash Out money from PayPal to Maybank account more than a year ago. I have to wait until I have enough money to show you guys. Hehehe. Just kidding! I did transfer USD 50 to my Maybank account. but totally forget to update about it.
First you must add local bank accounts (saving or current) to your PayPal account. Its easy if you follow the step. There are slightly different between cash out money from PayPal to Credit/Debit Card and to your Local Bank Account. (For my example here I use Maybank account).
1. Cheaper – Its cheaper to withdraw money to your local bank than your card. PayPal will charge you RM 20 if you use your card. If you transfer money to Bank Account more than RM 400 it will be FREE and RM 3 for less than RM 400.
2. Save Time– 2-3 working days for Bank account and up to one week to transfer money to your card.
Conclusion : Save time and money to transfer money from PayPal to your local bank account. (more…)
Just last week I received another maybank2u fake e-mail :
Maybank security systems detected a serious (PR2) security problem in Maybank server and Currently been updated.
Your account must be updated for accept a new Maybank interface and will be stricted due to several invalid login
attempts from an unauthorized third-party. Your immediate attention is required to Update your account. Please be
informed that your account will be temporarily closed if not update now..

Thank you for Your Understanding and support
First all, their English is worse. Much worse than mine hehe.
They tried to create panic towards online customer by saying that Maybank2u security has been breached. So user will straight away click the link without checking. They moron just have nothing better to do I guess. So PLEASE don’t EVER trust/believe email asking for your online banking id and password. It doesn’t matter either Maybank2U, PayPal, CIMB Click or any other online banking. Just contact your bank directly to confirm.
Maybank does not send out any e-mail or SMS requesting customers to provide personal banking ID or PIN or credit card information. Please do not log in through website links contained in emails supposedly from Maybank or other institutions. Be alert or you may fall victim to a financial scam.
WHAT IS PHISHING ?
In the field of computer security, phishing is the criminally fraudulent process of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication
According to Maybank, there are 20 phishing site that want to steal your login id and password. Beware!. So I need to update Maybank about this amalon.com.
For Any Suspicious Email or SMS
Protect yourself from being a victim of email or SMS scams! If you receive suspicious messages, contact Maybank hotline immediately at 03-5891 4744.
My first experience with online banking is with Maybank2u back at 2002. At first, it was a big doubt to pay all your bills using online until a friend of mine thought me how to use it. I have a bad experience using Maybank2u to pay my Takaful Insurance. I paid using the wrong name but Maybank2u still accept it until I checked with my agent and he told me I did not paid. It took a few months to clear things up. I have to make a report to Takaful, report to Maybank and request a bank statement to identify the transaction. 🙁 But I manage to get my money back.
Online banking can make your life easier or the other way if you fail to take extra precaution 🙂
With the recent report on online banking fraud, please take extra care when performing online banking. Simply follow these 3 important tips to ensure that your money is safe while you are on holiday.
[UPDATE : This Post is no longer VALID since Maybank has improved their Debit Card Service. Please refer my latest post regarding Maybank Debit Card. Thanks ]
I read in the net that Maybank launched a new Maybank Visa Debit Card, I said WOW! that would be great since I have a saving account with them.So, I am expecting free service, easy top up and more shopping at the Internet. I am glad more local banks start offering Visa debit card facility.
Steven Wong has made a summary about this new card :
To review whether this Visa debit card compatible to PayPal withdrawal, I spend sometimes to read on Maybank website, and here is the quick summary for your info:
- Maybank’s Group ATM in Singapore, Brunei and Philippines: RM2 each
- MEPS network: RM1 each
- Visa Plus Network: RM12 each
Existing Maybank ATM card holders can convert their cards with the one time cost of RM12. It is also the same cost for card replacement.
However, if you used up to 7 years (upon the expiry date, you will get the replacement at FOC).
Earn 1 TreatPoint for every RM3 purchases.
No annual fees, monthly interest rates or late charges.
So, since I am a Tune Card user plus have a Maybank saving account, I think it would be good if I compare this two card, rite ?
Below is a brief comparison of our very own Tune card Prepaid Visa Card vs Visa-branded debit card
||Maybank Visa Debit Card
||Tune Card Visa Prepaid
||– Service charge for withdrawal transaction for:
Maybank’s Group ATM in Singapore, Brunei and Philippines: RM2 each
MEPS network: RM1 each
Visa Plus Network: RM12 each
|Annual fee ; RM 9.99
RM 2 only for Top Up at CIMB Bank, POS Malaysia and BSN
RM 1.15 withdrawals at CIMB ATM machine
RM0.50 only for online top up
|Cash Out PAYPAL
||Maybank2u,CIMB and POS office
I better stick with Tune Visa Prepaid Card, Why ? As you can see it is more flexible and Internet friendly. The most important thing is you can withdraw your PayPal money with it.:)
By the way, you can use Maybank ATM card in Petronas Petrol Pump and selected Supermarket so why Maybank want to promote this Debit card instead. I think their business idea for this Debit card is weak because you don’t want to go abroad only carrying debit card right?. At least you must have a spare credit card for emergency.
For me, debit card or Prepaid card is only suitable for Internet transaction. Buy ticket,hosting,domain and eBay online. So if maybank overlook this thing than their debit card will be nowhere compared to by Tune Prepaid Visa Card.
Several feedback that I got :
1. The question now is: Can Maybank Visa Debit cards compatible to PayPal withdrawal? I search on the web and try to find any review on that, unfortunately, there is no review so far. The closest was Uncle FL Sam on his withdrawal to Maybank Visa Credit Card.
So, I called up this morning to Maybank Customer Service to find out the details. The Maybank staff that I spoke to also not sure whether it is workable. After 20 minutes checking and waiting, she told me “NO” for PayPal withdrawal. steven wong
2. I try to add MBB Visa Debit card with Paypal, its not work. The following message will appear…
“This credit card has been denied by the bank that issued your credit card. For details on why your card was denied, please contact your credit card issuer’s customer service department. Or, you may want to try adding a different credit card.” zahidi
