I was about to email and ask Nuffnang Customer Service but I found other similar question:

13. I was awarded Glitterati status but recently it reverted to “Ordinary”.

First of all make sure that you are indeed not running any other SEA ads on any of your blogs.

We have encountered a minor bug where a blogger does not properly detect as exclusive when he has multiple blogs and some of them regularly have no unique visits.

This is because our crawler excludes dormant blogs to save time. But when your status is displayed, the blog in question may have had hits on that given day, before the crawler has managed to update its list of dormant blogs.

This leads to your account being flagged as “Ordinary” because one of your blogs is not exclusive. A simple way to avoid this is to make sure all your blogs have visits.

Alaaa, they should email about this new TOS. So all blogger aware that they have to update all their blogs. I admit that I have a couple of dormant blog, since I am quite busy rite now. But at least le tme know, before you take back my precious prrrrrrecious Glitterati

Solution:

I have removed all my not so active blog :) . Hope Nuffnang Team can give me back my Glitterati status. Please please !

Open Office vs Microsoft Office

March 9th, 2009 | 6 Comments | Posted in Open System
Microsoft Office

The Culture

When we buy a new laptop, usually it is preinstalled with original home Vista. Sometime the sale person will offer to install other software for free such as Office, Adobe, CD software and etc.

in my case, when I bought my DELL laptop I asked the guy to install me everything that he have for “free”. Free aka pirated software. Yup, I know its illegal but  as long as my Vista is original then all my software doesn’t have too rite.

Unfortunately I really have  a bad habit, I will update anything that need to be update and will  fix any update message and error I prefer all my software and OS to be updated. Why it is bad ?

When I run update for my WIndow ,I accidentally click update to Microsoft Office :) . You know what happen when you update online your pirate software, you will busted by Microsoft  online police. This time it’s called OGA, Office Genuine Authentication.

Microsoft police will detect the pirated software and show every time I use office. It will remind me that I maybe a victim of software pirate whom kidnap me and force me to install their software hehehe.

Short Solution

Even I tried to install a fresh cracked Office, OGA still recognise my software as illegal version. Then I search for OGA Remover, :) . Well I did find one and there is no more warning message. Then when I get a new update, the same thing happen again. Plus, sooner or later, Microsoft will soon fix this crack and I need to find a new crack version of OGA. So this things will keep move in a circle. I need to find a complete solution.

Ease of Mind

At last, I decided to fully use Open Office. Because I don’t want to end up l like my Project Manager, when his adobe professional reader crack version was not working during a presentation. Everyone can read the warning message for not using the original version.

Lesson to be taugh

I am in the process to fully use Open Office to replace Microsoft Office which is quite challenging but not impossible. It’s all begin within your mind. For your information, the Goverment sector are also switching to Open Office to cut cost and support Open System here in Malaysia. My wife from MAMPU  has started to use Open Office since last year.

Hopefully Education Minister can implement Open System Education to our kids soon. This need to be exposed when their are young so that they can learn that Microsoft is not everything :)

Currently I am using Foxit FDF Reader, Firefox & Chrome Browser, Open Office , VLC Media Player and GIMP.

Cheap Broadband Malaysia

March 6th, 2009 | 3 Comments | Posted in internet broadband

Cheap Broadband in Malaysia

The broadband internet culture in Malaysia is developing fast, and since 2006 nearly three quarters of a million people have been connected to the internet via a broadband connection. Everything from ADSL services to fibre optic cable broadband and mobile broadband are available from a variety of providers all competing for business, which keeps the market competitive.

Malaysian Broadband Providers

The largest provider of ADSL broadband in Malaysia is TMnet, and arm of Telekom Malaysia, and they offer a good value, cheap broadband package called Streamyx which offers up to 4Mbps download speeds, and the cheaper packages are sold with a fixed amount of hours use available each month. For slightly more money you get faster speeds, a fixed monthly price with unlimited usage and a free modem, but there is a lot of choice in terms of what kind of package you can afford and you can choose based on price as well as your individual needs. TMnet also offer business broadband packages which are tailored to the needs of business use, from the home worker right up to the medium or large business. Jaring Flite Wired is the second largest provider, offering up to 1Mbps download speed during peak times on a 24 month contract with monthly payments. Alternatively you can pay one lump sum at the beginning of a 12 month period are receive a free modem, and of course you then won`t have to worry about paying for your service monthly. Each package comes with 5 free email addresses and 500MB of inbox space. If you want a wireless solution rather than an ADSL service then airzed is a good choice. They offer both Wi-Fi hotspots in more than 200 locations around Malaysia as well as the latest in Wi-MAX technology for homes and businesses. Wi-MAX is essentially a very powerful Wi-Fi broadcast that can cover wider areas than Wi-Fi hotspots and makes is a viable alternative to land line broadband and direct competition for mobile broadband.

Finding Cheap Deals

The best way to find cheap broadband packages and compare deals in Malaysia is to use a broadband comparison website. Ranking ISPs by their speed, coverage and monthly costs will help you decide, and it`s always important to decide what you want from your broadband connection before you start looking so that you have a rough idea of what kind of deal will suit you, whether it is a fast connection or the convenience of Wi-Fi or Wi-MAX. Keep your budget in mind and don`t just settle for the first deal you see, as comparison sites will take the time and effort out of shopping for a cheap broadband package.

A Great Business Philosophy

December 11th, 2008 | 5 Comments | Posted in business

I have been invited to a Business Conference in Saujana Hotel, Subang by one of my client last week. The objective of the conference is to gather all vendor and share our feedback on their business policy.

But what I want to share here is the humble opening speech and vision by the company CEO, YBhg Dato’ Sri Hj. Mahamad Fathil bin Dato’ Mahmood, father of Malaysian Equestrian and love horse sport very much.

P3Q-31b

Dato’ Seri in white sleeves on the left

Background

He started as junior executive in Pernas after finishing MCKK . From there he got promoted to Supervisor and started his company 42 years ago. With his knowledge and business experience, he would like to share with us. He only go Hard Work University, where ? It’s in your head. Now he runs a few company with overhead cost half a billion ringgit. Remember, just overhead..so you can calculate how much money he make.

Inspiring

Actually, I was enlighten by his speech when he mentioned that what he is doing now is for the next world /akhirat.His vision is to see all small bumiputra vendors to succeed and stand on our own by the next ten years. He even mentioned that Dewan Perniagaan Melayu fails to help their member, by having one voice to push government. So by providing more Marketing Seminar, Vendor Development and Business Seminar , he hope that we can get the best business advise from his team.

Feedback

A lot of company complained that they did not get an equal opportunity when submitting tender. They claimed that they work hard with R&D but still other  supplier who get the same product online in the internet win the tender. But this kind of supplier even tough they can supply with 25% cheaper, usually do not have after sales services and repair cost will be higher since Government agency have to send the product it to Singapore or overseas.

There is one company that asked for advise on how to get distributor/dealer from over sea company. Because they claimed that they can do the job but foreign company refuse to give them sole distributor. Well, in my case we usually get the job first then get the distributor agency provided they have none agency here in Malaysia. So work with a new but potential foreign company :) .

0a5e6f4a68 o A Great Business Philosophy

Money is not everything, its the deeds that count

I hope more business tycoon can help new business entrepreneur/bumiputra to develop and stand by our own feet without cable/godfather/political figure backing. If we have a genuine idea/great product than I believe , we can succeed in business. Hopefully by God willing. If we just want to be Alibaba, take the project and give it to 3rd party than we will not last long in this business.

We can get help from other non bumi, but learn from them. Don’t depend on them. Be transparent and with integrity.

We live in multiracial country peacefully and harmony. We don’t want to be like Thailand or Philippines.

It’s a big cake, so share the wealth with others. :)

Google Adsense vs Nuffnang

September 21st, 2008 | 26 Comments | Posted in blogging

Hi Guys,

Last week, I had a fruitful discussion with Papa Bear about our online income. We try  to compare two online income that are proven but different, Google Adsense and Nuffnang. As we know Google Adsense tend to work well with English content with high paying keywords. As Nuffnang, I have been told that only local IP will be count in. Meaning traffic from Malaysia only will be turn into money.Source from Mr Akubetul

DSC01568 Google Adsense vs Nuffnang

Damia Anura,My inspiration

That explain why my wife’s blog, The Other Side of ME, earn more than my lankapo.com through Nuffnang. Even the statistic show that my number is better than her. So right now, I have to choose and focus on either Nuffnang or Google Adsense. As majority of traffic from this blog come from outside of Malaysia. As I am active with Entrecard. If I want to earn from Google Adsense, I have to post entry in English. Ok this is where my problem lies, my English is not that good to capture more audience. Yup, I have to admit. It is really important to be comfortable with your entry to attract more reader and make them to revisit your again.  I can’t do that with my English writing.

That is why I got to reactivate back my old blog in Bahasa Melayu, Damiaanura.com to attract more local Blogger. With this blog, I can write freely and within a short time. As for English blog, I have to do some research and draft first. Sometime it took 2 -3 days for me to write one post. I am not like you guys or Papa bear that can write as simple as that. I need more time to think the right and exact word to explain my points.

All this while, I thought you can only make money through English blog, but Nuffnang prove me wrong. As a lot of my friend earn a lot of money through Nuffnang with Bahasa Melayu blog. It takes me 2-3 months to earn my USD 100 through Google Adsense while my friend earn RM 500 – RM 600 per month. The keyword is traffic. There is no point to write about popular keywords if you fail to capture and mesmerize your visitor. You need to be unique and touch your visitor’s heart.

What leave this blog ? No la. I will still maintain this blog it just that I will focus more on my traffic.Share my experience on blogging and making money online using Google Adsense.Adsense is quite challenging, you can earn more through clicks or high traffic. As for now I need to restructure this blog to focus more on Adsense while DamiaAnura.com on Nuffnang.

So, no matter what language do you write, just make sure you are good at it and attract high traffic as to monetize your blog or site will be easy. But if you blog just for fun, its up to you as long as you happy with it. :) . Happy blogging  and Selamat Hari Raya to all my Muslim readers.
