Streamyx Down Again

Yes, if your Broadband is slow loading, take hours to open your e-mail or favourite website.

Relax it’s not the Conficker Worm that effect Telekom Broadband Network. It’s just a circuit faults

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) wishes to announce that there is a disruption of its Internet services due to circuit faults on the SMW3 between Tuas, Singapore and Penang linking Malaysia to Hong Kong and APCN2 near Chongming, China connecting Malaysia to the United States.

As a result, customers using the Internet services may experience slow browsing while accessing websites hosted in the U.S. and Hong Kong.

TM promise that all Broadband service will be restored this 5th April. I have nothing much to say, except it’s really irritating since problem with Streamyx is a never ending story.

Preventive maintenance should be done regularly and speed recovery is crucial since all broadband are all depends on TM backbone. I don’t care how it’s done, but I pay a lot every months so I need a quality class service.

How about you guys ? What option do we have ?

Tune Money is on Twitter

Many people and corporate nowdays enjoying using Twitter as their medium to communicate with other. Including @ adsense and even @ air asia has their own Twitter account now.

I am happy to tell you that @ tunemoney has also launched their own Twitter account. If you’re a Twitter user and have problem or something to say about Tune Card or Tune Money Service, then Tweet about it

If you can see from the picture, last Tweet was last 30th March, so they will keep their account updated. If you are still facing problem with Tune Money, maybe contacting Mr Tony Fernandez @Tony Fernandez might be a good idea hehe.

Broadband Awareness,anyone?

A few month back, I was briefed about broadband penetration in Malaysia by my friend from broadband industries. How the Malaysian Government is trying hard to prepare the infra for all Malaysian to use broadband in their house.

Did you know that other country like Singapore, Hong Kong and Korea, their broadband penetration is more than 70% compare to us Malaysia only 20%. So the government is planning to set a national broadband target of 50% household penetration by 2010.With the introduction of WiMax license to Packet One Networks, Asiaspace, REDtone and Ymax (YTL-e).Plus 3G license for mobile broadband to Maxis, Celcom, MiTV and Time DotCom.

For me, I use Streamyx Broadband Merdeka Package for 1Mb speed at my house. While at my office I use also Streamyx with 1Mb speed. So you can say that my broadband penetration and awareness is still 90% since my Nokia N95 is only connected to free Wi-Fi hehe.Still no 3G service.

Until last week during a visit to my friend house, I feel offended with my friend when I asked him about his internet usage. He is still using dial up and his monthly bill is like RM 200 above.

I feel like want to knock his head haha. Haven’t you heard about broadband or Streamyx by Telekom. I just can’t believe my self he is able to use that slow dial up connection for one month. I believe that he is the other 80% Malaysian that still not aware about broadband service. Or why just can he ask his so hi-tech and internet savvy friend (that would be me) about broadband service. )

Anyway, I have offered my service to configure and setting his modem and wireless broadband router once he register with either Streamyx or P1 WiMax.

HOW TO DISABLE COMMON POP-UP BLOCKERS

This entry is specifically for Ahmad as he is unable to reload his Tune Card using PFX online. Or it might help other user that fail to load to PFX online for Tune Money reload.

Please DISABLE all POP-UP-BLOCKERS to ensure transaction goes through successfully.

If you have a pop-up blocker enabled, you are advised to perform the following steps to avoid difficulties during payment process:
