Manchester United atau Piala Asia ?

Muak rasanya aku mendengar berita di kaca tv, membaca di dada akhbar kemelut yang melanda antara FAM, AFC dan Machester United…Mengapa perlu bertelagah jika sudah terang lagi bersuluh

Menjadi tuan rumah kepada Piala Asia ,mungkin tidaklah sehebat mana.Walaupun ia mungkin menjadi medan untuk kita meningkat kan martabat sebagai antara gergasi di Asia Tenggara. Tetapi itulah yang kita tidak nampak.

Dalam arena antarabangsa Malaysia lebih digeruni dalam badminton, hoki, squash tetapi tidak pada sukan bola sepak. Ranking yang entah ke berapa, malah kita di bawah Singapura.Kegagalan adalah lumrah. Kita lebih bangga apabila melihat pasukan kita dibelasah 6 atau 7 – 0 oleh pasukan gergasi Eropah.

Kehadiran Manchester menjadi rumit apabila FAM just don’t know how to say NO and some people don’t know how to shut up. Its not about politic is about football. It is it really about our 50th Merdeka celebration that we need Europe top club friendly to attract more visitor ?. PLEASE. People will always come to Malaysia. Surely not because of high quality football but because of it people, beautiful place and nice food.

Maruah Negara akan tercalar jika kita hilang hak sebagai tuan rumah, FAM patut sedar akan hakikat ini. AFC hanya berpegang kepada janji, tiada sebarang perlawanan lain ketika kejohanan Piala Asia. Ironinya, kerajaan masih berkeras untuk meneruskan perlawanan tersebut walaupun Manchester memerlukan kebenaran AFC untuk mengadakan perlawanan tersebut. Come on lah !

Lembu dipegang kepada tali, manusia dipegang kepada janji. Jangan yang dikejar tak dapat, yang dikendong berciciran.

Dortmund’s Metzelder set for Real switch

BERLIN, May 27, 2007 (AFP) - German international defender Christoph Metzelder will leave Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund to join Spanish giants Real Madrid next season, Dortmund coach Thomas Doll revealed on Sunday.

The 26-year-old centre-back has made 30 appearances for his country and was named by national coach Joachim Loew in the squad for next month’s Euro 2008 qualifiers against San Marino and Slovakia.

Having admitted in interviews he has been learning Spanish for months, Metzelder’s switch to Madrid has been one of the worst kept secrets in football, but Doll finally confirmed it on Sunday.

“Christoph Metzelder will go to Real Madrid next season and we are looking for another defender to replace him,” Doll told German television channel DSF.

The move has yet to be confirmed by the Spanish side, but an announcement is expected by Real after La Liga finishes on Sunday.
